What’s going on people? Hope you had a great Christmas? Hope you had an even better New Year? It’s your boy, Brass Tax. It is bitch, you already know. You already know. One of the best horror movies of last year, IT. Goddam! Best way watching this movie, the best way, get a couple of mums, or dads, sit next to them, make sure they were kids around about 10-11 years old, and make them see through the first opening scene, oh shit. You know when I see that opening scene I was like “shit! I don’t even have kids.” Parents who have seen the first scenes are going to be mortified like motherfucker. Oh shit, I like this movie one of the better horror films. It’s taking element from stranger’s thing and incorporate it into this movie. The director was obviously a fan. But forget all that, let us get into the tech aspect. You got the black bars. Shot in 3.4K, Visual Effects 2K, Digital Intermediate 2K, Dolby ATMOS Sound.

This was a great up tick from the 1080p Blu-ray. For sure, it’s very clear, very detailed image, you could lick up that screen, I ain’t going to lie to you. Vibrant texture, details, the hair on the kids, the clothing, the creases in the clothing.  When the kids are around the woods, when they got to the rock throwing scene, they’re especially great standouts there in terms of detail, depth which is another great step up nice 3-Dimensional pop where this really shines is in out door scenes.

Pennywise, oh pennywise creepy, you know that. I’ll tell you why. There are a lot of people out there who have this perception that I’m street. I’m not street, you and I could be best friends. When we are walking down the street and we see pennywise and he’s going to say “Hello Brass Tax.” Your boy in the opposite direction is running like Usain Bolt in this, I’m not going to lie to you. Black levels is really dark, really inky.  Special effects there’s fantastic. Pennywise make up everything, very detailed.  You’re noticing lot more in this than you just wouldn’t pick up in the 1080p. It’s a great step up and it’s very appreciable upgrade. If someone comes into the room with you, be it you girlfriend, your boyfriend, your husband or wife, your dog, your dog is going to see that shit and it’s going to be like “Godamn, shit looks amazing.”

Do you want to know what the HDR looks like? So basically, It’s your birthday but you didn’t realize that your girlfriend, she’s took the whole week off, she’s staying at your place and all she wants to do is have you turn up in the bedroom at 6pm every night. Guess what? Everyday she’s coming out of the bathroom in different lingerie, silky, cotton, tasty. You feel like it’s Christmas every day in this bitch, that’s what the HDR is like. When I saw this at the first time, I knew the color really didn’t pop on. With this colors really do pop, a wider color space. Especially when you are outdoor and it really gets a chance for the HDR to flexes muscles. Let’s not talk about the landscape.  The sun, the sun is so bright in this bitch, do you want to know how bright it is?  I had to put my sunglasses on, I don’t know what to say to you – that bright! Really good color, rich and vibrant. The primary colors really do pop in this bitch but it’s oversaturated but it’s just nice, vibrant vibe to this bitch. HDR really looks great in this.

Let’s talk about Dolby Vision. Dolby Vision in most cases is a step up. Not a huge step up but it’s a step up. I think the main focus where really improved in the Dolby Vision was the outdoor scenes, a bit brighter, a bit more vibrant, they just pop a little bit more. Are you missing out on Dolby Vision? No, it did has some very nice touches, the HDR was just a little show off. This is not going to disappoint. You tell your girl to go sit on the woofer and see what happens? Chances are she’s going to love it but the coochie might get scared or die in this bitch and I’ll tell you why.  A1, very atmospheric is what a horror movie like this needs to be.  Even when the kids are our and about in the daytime, it’s just like ambient sound, it’s just surround sound. You are hearing things in the distance that you wouldn’t notice ordinarily. When the kids are around about and you let it stream in the background.  The detailed sound.  When I watch the first time, I shit my load even harder when I watch it the second time. Bass it’s where it needs to hit. Great vertical sound. A very wide stage for the sound which is exactly what it needs, great atmospheric. One of those movies that really does showcase ATMOS. Now, if you don’t have an ATMOS sound, it’s about time you guys get one.

Yea, great movie. Two thumbs up, I like it. This is a great looking upgrade from the 1080p.  For me personally, horror movies are not really about replay value but this one does. You really do care about the characters. I don’t know why but I watched it the second time, I notice few more things that I didn’t notice the first time. The villain is sinister as hell.  I personally don’t like clowns anywhere. I’m not scared of them but this shit makes me scared of them. Should you pick it up? And I would say no. Hold off because there’s a director’s cut coming in a few months which adds about 15 minutes to it. And you know the director, this is a good movie, I got the feeling but the 15 minutes it’s going to add is just going to add to the story, is not going to be a filler. I’ve got a strong feeling about this, I would wait but if you can’t wait, then you can really go wrong. Alright guys, that’s pretty much it. You take care. 4K Rock Star, you already know.
